Founded in 1996, Novacoast offers cybersecurity services for highly regulated global firms such as banks, healthcare and energy companies. In 2020, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the need for Novacoast to diversify the geographic locations of their Security Operation Centers (SOCs). With SOCs already located in California, Michigan, Guatemala and the U.K., the company originally planned to expand into a more familiar market such as Utah or Arizona, until contact from the Greater Wichita Partnership helped them consider a new course

Novacoast quickly realized Wichita’s untapped cybersecurity potential. The Greater Wichita region’s business-friendly environment with few regulatory obstacles and continuous cybersecurity talent pipeline provided the perfect destination for Novacoast. Ranked as one of the fastest-growing tech centers by Brookings, the Greater Wichita region home to over a dozen educational institutions offering technology related programs and the Air National Guard’s 184th Intelligence Wing at McConnell Air Force Base. Supplying information operations and network security for the entire Air National Guard, the 184th employs nearly 500 highly trained men and women; 70% of this group serve part time and are available for full-time jobs in the community. Attracting Novacoast to the region has created over 60 new high-skilled jobs in downtown Wichita.
