Amazon chooses Greater Wichita for two new locations

Opportunity:

As the largest e-commerce company in the world, Amazon was strategically searching for a centrally located site for its large-scale fulfillment and delivery operations to meet the continuous explosion of consumer demand. In addition to sites, Amazon also required a robust infrastructure to support their diverse needs, a hard-working workforce and resources to get them up and running.

Solution:

As the most geo-centric metro in the U.S., the Greater Wichita region is equipped with expansive resources, making it the ideal landing spot for Amazon. Offering quick-to-market solutions with one of the nation’s only speculative building abatement programs that produce ready-to-go industrial buildings. This program allowed Amazon to find a nearly 150,000 square-foot facility to launch their new delivery station concept. Additionally, the region’s vast, open land and close proximity to major interstates provided the perfect site for Amazon’s new, one million-square-foot fulfillment center. Attracting Amazon to the Greater Wichita region has created the opportunity for hundreds of new full-time jobs.
