Advanced manufacturing company Reiloy USA expansion to bring new building, equipment and jobs

Maize, Kan. - Reiloy USA is expanding its advanced manufacturing capabilities and capacity with plans to invest more than $20 million in a new building and new machinery to grow the German-owned company’s footprint in Maize. With the expansion the company also plans to grow to more than 100 employees in the next few years.

“We are excited to expand in Maize in the same industrial park site as our current operations,” said Joe Piccini, Reiloy USA President. “This expansion brings additional sophisticated and proprietary equipment and technology that will benefit customers throughout North and South Americas. We plan to begin construction on the new building in March and hiring of additional employees this spring.”

The company already has a 54,000 square-foot facility at the Maize Industrial Park and currently employs 68 people. Based on initial plans the new building will be located on 13 acres near Reiloy USA’s current building. The company plans to hire an additional 39 people over the next five years.

“These are great jobs and we provide our employees with highly specialized training,” Piccini said. “At Reiloy USA we have very little turnover so the new jobs generated with this expansion will offer a chance for new people to join a great existing team.”

The Greater Wichita Partnership worked with Reiloy USA and a number of partners on the collaborative, regional effort to help the company with its expansion efforts, including the City of Maize, the Kansas Department of Commerce and Evergy.

“Reiloy USA’s expansion completely fills the Maize Industrial Park which opened only five short years ago” said Maize Mayor Donna Clasen. “We are proud of the seven companies who call the Maize Industrial Park their home and of the 500 employees who come to work here. We look forward to working again with our regional partners as we look towards future expansions in Maize.”

Kansas Secretary of Commerce David Toland said, “This is the type of investment and growth that is a key priority for Kansas and for Governor Kelly and the Department of Commerce. Foreign investment bringing new, advanced technology to Kansas and increasing sales from partners around the world helps create great jobs and grow the Kansas economy as a whole.”

Ebony Clemons-Ajibolade from Evergy said, “At Evergy we are committed to helping Kansas grow and especially see the potential of growth in the Wichita region. The Reiloy USA expansion is a great example of multiple partners working together to help grow companies and jobs.”

The German company Reifenhauser Group is Reiloy USA’s parent company. Founded in 1911 and a leading provider of innovative technologies and components for plastics extrusion, the Reifenhauser Group enables its customers to produce blown films, cast films, sheets and nonwovens of the highest quality.

The Reifenhauser Group purchased the Westland Corporation in 2012 and announced a move and expansion to the Maize industrial park in 2014. This additional investment solidifies the company’s presence in Maize while providing customers with more options and capabilities in component technology in the plastics industry including proprietary, cutting-edge extrusion and blow molding plastic processors.
